Obolon invests not only into development of its production facilities. It also does a lot of charity. Vydubitskiy Monastery was founded in the second half of XI century by Vsevolod, the son of Prince Jaroslav the Wise. As many others Kiev monasteries, it was plundered by Tatars in 1240. Kiev Metropolit Petro Mogyla participated in rebuilding of Vydubitskiy Monastery. In late 1920s the Monastery was closed by Bolsheviks. In 1992 the Monastery renewed religious services, but during Soviet era the Monastery had fallen into disrepair. Obolon company helped to renew it and today the Monastery is a part of Ukrainian Orthodox Church (of Kiev Patriarchy). Church of Mykola Prytyska in Podil region of Kiev was also renewed with support of Obolon company. Obolon also provides help to children, veteran and Chernobyl organizations and organizations of disabled people. Organizations of disabled people are supported by providing working places to their members. Obolon patronizes one of Kiev schools and a kindergarten, helps parental schools and a hospital for disabled Afghanistan soldiers. |
